Worship Ministry
Mission: God has made us all with the purpose of continually worshiping Him (Revelation 4:11; Isaiah 43:21) and our mission is to assist everyone to realize this truth. Worship is a spontaneous response to the realized presence of God.

Kids Ministry
Mission: To make disciples of Jesus Christ by helping kids LOVE God, LOVE people, and LEARN His Word.

Mission: A network of community groups in the North Georgia region.

Group Life
Mission: At Lakewood, our greatest desire is to see you connect with others and grow spiritually. We believe you grow to be like Christ as you do life with other people. In addition, we are convinced sustained life-change happens best in the context of a small group.

Bereavement Team
Mission: Our Homebound Ministry serves and maintains relationships with those members of our church body who, due to physical limitations, are unable to attend church services regularly.
Ways to Serve:

- Help organize and serve the family meal at funerals.
- Participate at the funeral services through prayer and the ministry of presence.
- Send cards to the bereaved after the loss of a loved one.
Homebound Team
Mission: Our Homebound Ministry serves and maintains relationships with those members of our church body who, due to physical limitations, are unable to attend church services regularly.
Ways to Serve:

- Contacts assigned Homebound members through calls, visits, and cards.
- Regularly pray for or with Homebound members.
- Keep church staff and Homebound Team updated on the member’s wellbeing and needs.
Serve Gainesville
English as a Second Language (ESL)
Mission: ESL (English as a Second Language) offers instructional language and communication classes for students whose primary language is not English. From beginner to advanced English classes, as well as a U.S. citizenship class, our ESL ministry welcomes members of the community to learn English while experiencing the love of Christ. You don’t have to speak a second language to serve, just have a heart for people and a desire to share the love of Christ.

Special Needs Ministry
Mission: Special needs children, adults and their families are embraced and cared for—loved and nurtured spiritually.
Ways to Serve:

- JOY Buddy – Youth and adults who are partnered with a special needs child mainstreamed into our regular programs.
- Teachers – Adults who work in the self-contained class, using curriculum adapted for our students with special needs.
- Respite Helpers – Youth and adults needed to staff our monthly respite for special needs children, adults and their siblings—giving their parents a much needed break.
Women on Mission
Mission: Pray for our missionaries, learn about their ministries and serve our community.
Ways to Serve:

- Collect food and other supplies for the Good Samaritan food pantry.
- Card ministry to homebound of Lakewood.
- Book bags and sponsorship for children attending Camp Hope.
Celebrate Recovery
Mission: A Christ-centered 12-step recovery program for hurts, habits and hang-ups. Issues that we all have.
Ways to Serve:

- Help prepare meals on Tuesdays and/or assist with clean up

Celebrate Recovery INSIDE
Mission: A Christ-centered 12-step recovery program for our local men and women’s prisons.
Ways to Serve:

- Men – Help facilitate groups on Sunday mornings at Hall County Correctional Institute
- Women – Be a pen pal for CRI participant at Lee Arrendale State Prison
- Women – Visit one of our CRI participants at Lee Arrendale State Prison
Recreation Ministry
Mission: To develop and grow followers of Jesus through various avenues of recreation, group fitness, and family activities, with its overall goal to strengthen, connect, and point the community locally, nationally, and globally towards Jesus Christ.

The Retreat at Long Mountain
Mission: A retreat in Cleveland, Georgia that provides opportunities for individuals, families and small groups to slow down, enjoy fellowship, reconnect with creation, and to be still.
Ways to Serve:

- Volunteers – Help with maintaining the facilities and grounds on a regular basis such as once a month or once quarterly.
Disaster Relief
Mission: Disaster Relief supports families in need after a natural disaster giving short-term hope through hands-on efforts and eternal hope in Jesus.
Ways to Serve:

- Volunteers – travel on short-term trips to serve alongside Samaritan’s Purse, meeting practical needs while ministering to homeowners and sharing the gospel
Lakewood Local Relief
Mission: Lakewood Local Relief is a division of Disaster Relief created to meet needs in Gainesville and our surrounding communities
Ways to Serve:

- Volunteers – Serve your neighbors through practical projects such as building wheelchair ramps, repairing roofs, completing yard work, and meeting other local needs.
Rebuild Ministry
Mission: The Rebuild Ministry is a division of Lakewood’s Disaster Relief Ministry focused on restoring homes and communities after disasters.
Ways to Serve:

- Volunteers – Join a short-term service team to serve alongside Samaritan’s Purse, helping rebuild homes and encourage families recovering from natural disasters.
