Bereavement Team

Mission: Our Homebound Ministry serves and maintains relationships with those members of our church body who, due to physical limitations, are unable to attend church services regularly.

Ways to Serve:

    • Help organize and serve the family meal at funerals.
    • Participate at the funeral services through prayer and the ministry of presence.
    • Send cards to the bereaved after the loss of a loved one.

Mission: Our Homebound Ministry serves and maintains relationships with those members of our church body who, due to physical limitations, are unable to attend church services regularly.

Ways to Serve:

    • Contacts assigned Homebound members through calls, visits, and cards.
    • Regularly pray for or with Homebound members.
    • Keep church staff and Homebound Team updated on the member’s wellbeing and needs.

Serve Gainesville

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Mission: ESL (English as a Second Language) offers instructional language and communication classes for students whose primary language is not English. From beginner to advanced English classes, as well as a U.S. citizenship class, our ESL ministry welcomes members of the community to learn English while experiencing the love of Christ. You don’t have to speak a second language to serve, just have a heart for people and a desire to share the love of Christ.

Special Needs Ministry

Mission: Special needs children, adults and their families are embraced and cared for—loved and nurtured spiritually.

Ways to Serve:

    • JOY Buddy – Youth and adults who are partnered with a special needs child mainstreamed into our regular programs.
    • Teachers – Adults  who work in the self-contained class, using curriculum adapted for our students with special needs.
    • Respite Helpers – Youth and adults needed to staff our monthly respite for special needs children, adults and their siblings—giving their parents a much needed break.

Mission: A retreat in Cleveland, Georgia that provides opportunities for individuals, families and small groups to slow down, enjoy fellowship, reconnect with creation, and to be still.

Mission: Disaster Relief supports families in need after a natural disaster giving short-term hope through hands-on efforts and eternal hope in Jesus.

    • Volunteers – travel on short-term trips to serve alongside Samaritan’s Purse, meeting practical needs while ministering to homeowners and sharing the gospel
