We want to partner with parents to help raise-up a biblically-literate, fully devoted generation of believers in Jesus Christ.  It is our desire to reinforce the spiritual values taught in your home through sound biblical instruction, quality activities and meaningful relationships with other children and adults.

Bible stories and truths are taught each week to preschoolers using Gospel Light Curriculum. Preschoolers experience story-time and music in their classrooms and also enjoy a corporate time of learning and worship at the “Big Tree.”

JOY MINISTRY

Special Needs Ministry

Vision

Special needs children, adults and their families are embraced and cared for through this important ministry. JOY stands for Jesus’ Opportunity for You.

As a parent of a child or adult with special needs, you have the option to mainstream or place your child in a self-contained classroom. Both environments allow our special needs children and adults to be loved and nurtured spiritually. God’s word will be presented based on each child’s specific cognitive needs.

Family Christmas Caroling

Who:  Everyone

When:  Friday, December 13th, 6:00 pm

Where: Fellowship Hall, Lakewood Baptist Church, 2235 Thompson Bridge Rd, Gainesville, GA

Include this special family activity in your Christmas celebrations by visiting our homebound and assisted living residents as we carol and share a little cheer with these special folks!

After caroling, we will return to the fellowship hall for soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, and Christmas cookies. The soup and grilled cheese will be provided. Please bring a plate of Christmas cookies or sweets to share.

Note for kids: To make the evening more special, consider making Christmas cards to bring and give to the folks you visit!

RSVP: We need to know how many to plan for, so RSVP here by December 11th. Contact Carrie Hargrove at carriehargrove@lakewoodlife.org with any questions.

Code Keeper Christmas Musical

Who:  Everyone

When:  Wednesday, December 18th, 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Where: Auditorium WC, Lakewood Baptist Church, 2235 Thompson Bridge Rd, Gainesville, GA

Come join us for a fun Christmas Musical that our Code Keeper Music Elective and Drama students have been working on. . . The Nightshift Before Christmas – set in a diner called Falafel House right in the heart of Bethlehem!

Mo’s complaint that “nothing ever happens at night in this sleepy little town” goes down the drain with the dirty dishwater when a brilliant light splits the darkness over the fields outside of town, and surprised shepherds burst through the doors with a stunning tale of angels and an amazing birth announcement. Soon, the late-night crowd is bristling with excitement to join the shepherds to see and worship the long-awaited Savior, born during the night shift — right there in Bethlehem!

You won’t want to miss out!

Parent Child Dedication

Who: For parents desiring to commit to raising their children to know and love Jesus.

When:  Sunday, February 2nd, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Where: Auditorium WC, Lakewood Baptist Church, 2235 Thompson Bridge Rd, Gainesville, GA

Make Reservations by January 22nd:  Carrie Hargrove at carriehargrove@lakewoodlife.org

Participation in one of our parent-child dedication services is an important way for us to support and encourage your efforts to lay a spiritual foundation in the life of your child. This service is not intended as an “infant baptism” at which salvation is claimed for a child. Instead, it is a time for parents to commit themselves to model and teach spiritual truth and values in the home. Each family who participates will be assigned a Lakewood couple or individual who will join them in praying for their child to accept and follow Jesus as his or her own personal savior. These special services are held in the fall, winter, and spring at 4:00 PM. A reception is hosted by the Kids Cove staff after the service for families and their guests. To participate, please contact Carrie Hargrove at carriehargrove@lakewoodlife.org.
