ABOUT

Who We Are
We are the kids ministry of Lakewood Baptist Church: a ministry to kids from birth through 5th grade and their families. Kids Cove exists to partner with parents to raise up a biblically-literate, fully devoted generation of believers in Jesus Christ. Our sincere hope is that every child would have a Bible in their hand, a purpose in their life, and the Savior in their heart.

Kids Cove
Kids Cove is our expansive children’s ministry space in which we have three unique learning environments. WeeCare is a designated, secure space where we provide care for our smallest children (birth to 2 years old). GroZone is a multi-classroom space with an indoor playground where we minister to our preschoolers (ages 2-5). Finally, the Kids Cove area is designed to accomodate large and small group gatherings for our grade school children (Kindergarten through 5th grade).

Sunday Mornings
BABIES THROUGH PRE-K
God Made Me
God Loves Me
Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever
The entire curriculum is constructed to incite wonder in a preschooler and meet them where they are cognitively, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially. Through age appropriate activities, preschoolers are building their spiritual foundation so that by the time they graduate to Kindergarten they know the three basic truths.
GRADE SCHOOL
Children are taught Bible stories and truths in creative and relevant ways. Application of spiritual concepts is reinforced in small groups where they also receive care and instruction from an adult leader.

VBS 2022
Spark imagination and kick creativity into high gear at Spark Studios. In summer 2022, kids will learn that God’s creativity didn’t stop in Genesis. The Master Artist is working to redeem, reclaim, and transform us–His creation–to the design He planned for us. Kids will see the beautiful truth that they are God’s workmanship as they learn to use their talents to bring glory to Him.
Parent Supervision Note: Children who complete K–5th grade in Spring 2022 are able to attend without a parent volunteer.
Pre-K Note: A curriculum-driven full schedule of activities for infants–Pre-K is provided for children who have a parent or caregiver serving as an adult volunteer.
Youth Volunteer Note: Youth (who complete 6th–12th grade in Spring 2022) are eligible to serve as a volunteer helper with an adult leader appointed by our staff.
**Please note that all youth must attend an important orientation/training meeting before the week of VBS to be eligible to volunteer.**

Knights! Castles! Princesses! Dragons! Join Princess Pride, Sir Brags-a-lot, and their curious band on an amazing trek in a very faraway land.
When the Carpenter from another kingdom brings the troubling news that their castle (built far away from the King), is actually built on sand and will not withstand the coming storm, they hesitantly choose to follow him as he has promised to show them this “better Kingdom,” and assures them he’ll take them “all the way, and will never leave them.”
Encountering troubles, temptations, and some very funny characters along the way, ultimately their narrow road to “The Shining Kingdom” seems hopelessly blocked by the Dragon Doom. But the seemingly-simple Carpenter steps forward to fight the dragon on their behalf, and vows that “even if you hear that I have died slaying the dragon, don’t fear — my Father has promised I’ll be victorious, and see you safely home!”
