Our Student Ministry exists to help students LIVE for God, LOVE the church and LEAD others to Christ.

Who We Are

We are the student ministry of Lakewood Baptist Church: a ministry to middle and high school students and parents. On Sundays and Wednesdays, we gather in The Lodge, our student ministry facility, to help students LIVE for God (worship), LOVE the church (community) and LEAD others to Christ (mission). Through partnering with parents, our desire is to see students: own their faith and grow through spiritual disciplines, have a biblical worldview and a global perspective, know and use their spiritual gifts to serve others, be involved in God’s mission of sharing the gospel and making disciples, be involved in an authentic Christian community through a local church.

The Lodge

The Lodge is our two-story Student Ministry space located on the back side of the church campus. The Lodge has two large worship auditoriums for both Middle School and High School, as well as meeting spaces for small groups.

Students can purchase food and drinks from The Lodge Café on Wednesday Nights and Sunday Mornings. You can open an account, or pay with cash/card. Click the link below to add funds to a student’s Lodge Cafe account.

Note: It will take up to 24 hours before funds will be posted to your student’s account.

Connect With Us

Summer is BACK and we are so excited! While we take a break from our Sunday morning Fusion Groups and our Wednesday night Fusion, we still have LOTS of great opportunities to gather with our students like Summer Bible Study on Sundays and several events for both middle and high school students. CLICK HERE for more information.

9:30 - 10:30am

During the summer months, we take a break from our Fusion Groups and we do a Summer Bible Study. High school students will meet in the lower auditorium and middle school students will meet in the upper auditorium in The Lodge from 9:30-10:45. During this time, we will be diving into a bible study called The Chosen. This study is based on a TV series on the life of Christ. This will be the same study discussed in the Parents of Teenagers group on Sunday mornings too. We will have a few extra copies of the book that will be guiding our time together. If you or your student are interested in having a book to go through for your personal use, let us know.  We also encourage you and your students to watch the show but the book or TV show are not required to participate in this Bible study.  You can download the app to watch it for free, just CLICK HERE to find out more!

Connecting and Supporting Parents of Students

Overview of Parent Ministry

We believe that parents are called to be the primary spiritual leaders for their kids (see Deuteronomy 6:1-9 and Ephesians 6:4). Our role in church is to come alongside parents and support you in this incredible responsibility by reinforcing the truths you are teaching in your home. In addition to what we do with students at Fusion and Fusion Groups, we support parents through training, resources and parent seminars to better equip you in your God-given role with your kids. Please be sure to contact us about being added to our Parent E-mail list to keep up with these opportunities and upcoming student ministry events.

As parents are the primary spiritual leaders for their kids, we want to set you up well to discuss spiritual truth in your home. Use the links below to view some resources that can help you have some brief family devotion time with your teens.

Parents of Teenagers Group

On Sunday mornings, Student Pastor (Jamie Willis) and his wife (Joy) lead a group specifically designed for parents of teenagers. This group meets from 9:30-10:45am in the Ministry Center/Gym (next to The Lodge) while students meet with their leaders in Fusion Groups. The vision of this group is to be a community of parents who support, encourage and equip one another to be the primary spiritual leaders for their kids. We spend time in different Bible studies and topics that relate to parenting during this life-stage. It’s a discussion-oriented format (not a lecture) and includes time to connect with other adults and pray for our kids. There’s also free coffee!

Fusion Summer

Summer is BACK! We are so excited about Summer 2021 and have a lot of great events and other opportunities planned for middle and high school students. Click the link below to see all the dates and plans. We’ll fill in all the details on each event as we get closer to time. There are also several great ways to serve over the summer with our Kids and Sports Ministry.

Parent Connection

Parent Connection is for parents of all middle and high school students, especially those with rising 6th and 9th graders (or those who are new to the church). This is an opportunity for you to connect with other parents at Lakewood, meet the Student Ministry Staff and learn more about the vision and direction of the student ministry. You’ll also hear more about our weekly ministry environments and major events for the coming year. Lunch is provided and childcare is available by request. Click below to register. Deadline is July 28.
