Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow. What a day Sunday April 14 was in the life and ministry of Lakewood. We came together and together we walked up to the altar and placed our gifts of sacrifice as a symbol of our love of God and HIS Church. While the amount of the day’s Expansion Project Offering will be of interest the MOST IMPORTANT thing is that our kids and grandkids got to observe what commitment and loyalty to Jesus looks like.
In both the Crosspoint and Real Life worship venues we sensed a real and amazing presence of God Almighty.
Make NO MISTAKE! This was not about an offering or even the size of it, it was God’s people Putting HIM first and declaring to our community and world that we believe GOD is GOD.
It is about this generation being found faithful by the one who will come behind us.
It is about honoring that “great cloud of witnesses” many from Lakewood, who are NOW with JESUS.
What wonderful, meaningful worship we experienced today. In both Crosspoint and Real Life the scripture, the music, the responsive readings and the prayers all lifted the name of JESUS!
The 3 videos reminded us our past, our present and our future. (They are posted at the end of this article, I urge you to watch them in order and all at one sitting. Check back in the next few days as we will also post some pictures)
I will have more to write as I reflect on this Good Day, We will Post the TOTAL Expansion offering to date but for now I want to fulfill my word to You all: “All glory goes to God, the Father, Jesus Christ his Son and the Holy Spirit.”
I realize I am not David, but I can certainty RESOUND his WORDS from I Chronicles 29:10-19: So to the whole assembly, I say:
“Praise be to you, Lord,
the God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.”
I love Jesus, his Church and his Word.
