NT18 | New Testament in a Year

Since we are currently participating in 21 Days of Prayer, we asked Janet Roland to share some of her experience with prayer as we enter the New Year and our series: NT18.

During the 21 Days of Prayer, we have had a special prayer at the end of each of our Real Life services. This past Sunday, people with sick friends or family members were asked to come to the front for prayer. Each person was prayed over and given a prayer card with a prayer and some verses to pray for the their sick loved one. We wanted to share the information on that card. Here is a prayer you can pray for someone who is sick:

Lord Jesus, our hearts are hurting for those that we love who are sick and struggling.  We ask for Your mercy to heal and restore them.  We know that You love them more than we even understand so we ask for Your will to be done in them and for them on earth as it is in heaven.  Show us how to minister to and bless them with love and care right now and strengthen those of us that are weary in the process.  In Jesus name we ask. Amen

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.  –Psalm 147:3

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. –James 5:16

He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. –Isaiah 53:3

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. –Psalms 34:19

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. –Hebrews 4:16
