What are the Sunday morning service times?

We have two distinctly different Sunday morning worship environments every week. The sermon is the same in each, but the location and music are different.

Our Crosspoint service takes place in the Chapel. We sing hymns in this service and enjoy hearing from Lakewood’s Choir.

The Real Life service takes place in our Worship Center. A combination of modern hymns and praise and worship music are led by our Lakewood Worship team.

What do I wear?

At Lakewood, you will find a variety of dress styles. There are many people who like to dress up, and there are many who like to be more casual in their dress. You will see nice suits all the way to jeans. So, we would encourage you to dress as you are used to in other churches or whatever makes you comfortable.

Where do I park?

We have plenty of places to park, and we have signs at each of our entrances with directions to our venues and buildings around campus, so you can make sure you’re in the right place. We have handicap parking, visitor parking, senior adult parking (SAP), and First Impressions Volunteers on golf carts driving around, if you need a lift to and from your vehicle on Sundays.

What do I do when I get there?

You will be welcomed at the doors by Greeters, feel free to ask directions or where the Information Centers are located. There you will receive a welcome gift and information pertinent for you and your family. You can also get assistance finding the service or class you want to attend. Welcome to Lakewood!

Where do I take my kids?

Lakewood Kids Ministry, welcomes kids of all ages throughout the year, and focuses on teaching Bible truths, concepts and stories. For more info on specific times and locations for each age group:

Where do students go? (6th - 12th Grade)

Lakewood Student Ministry exists to help students live for God, love the church and lead others to Christ. On Sunday mornings, we meet in groups from 9:30-10:45 AM in The Lodge. Students are divided by grade and gender and meet with adult leaders to connect deeper with God and one another through Bible study, prayer and fellowship.

How do I get plugged in to the church?

We regularly offer our Discover Class led by our Senior Pastor, Dr. Tyler Smiley, for anyone that is interested in learning about who we are and where we are going as a church. In Discover Class, we provide free lunch and childcare, and you will learn our vision, core values, beliefs, and structure. At the end of class, you will be given the opportunity to become a member of Lakewood.

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in a Sunday morning group, and they meet all across our campus at the following times:

Kids

Lakewood Kids Ministry meets on Wednesdays from 6:15-7:45 (check-in begins at 6:00). All Preschool and Grade School Kids are invited to join us.

Students (6th - 12th Grade)

On Wednesday evenings throughout the school year, Lakewood Students gather from 6:15-7:45 PM for a worship experience with a live band (led by students and adults) and relevant teaching from God’s Word by one of our student ministry staff. After the message, students meet in small groups (by grade and gender) with adult leaders to discuss and apply the message they just heard.

Lodge doors open for all students at 5:30 PM to hang out with friends, play games, or eat in our Lodge Cafe. At 6:15 PM, middle school students will worship together in the Upper Lodge Auditorium while high school students will worship together in the Lower Lodge Auditorium. At 7:15 PM, students gather in small groups.

Adult Groups and Studies

Adult classes are from 6:15-7:45 and run through May 15.

Romans | REGISTER

Join Benji Lavender in the Choir Room beginning April 10 for a study of the book of Romans. This will be a verse-by-verse study that will be highly interactive and extremely practical. All ages and all stages of adults are invited to attend.

Meet Me at the Lamp-Post | REGISTER

Join Don & Elizabeth Ormsbee in room 133 beginning April 17 for a literary journey through The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Whether you are already a friend of Lewis, a casual reader, or interested in beginning a literary journey, these sessions will be enjoyable discussions designed to stretch and strengthen ideas about our faith.

Rekindle R.O.M.A.N.C.E. | REGISTER

Just as a fire needs rekindling to keep the warm embers glowing, so does our romantic love. Romance, without intentional rekindling, can wane and soon become a mere flicker. So, what are some intentional practices you and your mate can make to Rekindle R.O.M.A.N.C.E. in your relationship? Join Scott and Dawn Smith for this 6 week study beginning April 10 at 6:15 in the Fellowship Hall.

Parenting Study: Family Discipleship | REGISTER

Discipling your family can feel like an intimidating task, but it doesn’t need to be overwhelming or complicated. With a simple plan in place, discipleship is something every parent can do. Join Jamie and Joy Willis for this 6-week parenting study in the Fellowship Hall beginning April 10.

Jonah: It’s Not About the Fish | REGISTER

Join the Lakewood Residents in room 208 for a 6-week study of the Book of Jonah. We will discover God’s faithfulness and His redemptive plan for all nations.

 

Crosspoint Choir

If you’ve ever wanted to join a choir whose sole purpose is praising God and enjoying the company of likeminded people, Crosspoint Worship Choir could be a perfect fit for you. Talent in the Crosspoint Choir ranges from novice voices to professionally trained singers. But the one thing they all have in common is their love of music and a willingness to serve by becoming part of this group. The Choir meets on Wednesdays from 6:15-7:30 PM in the Choir Room.

Divorce Care

DivorceCare
DivorceCare is a Christ-centered 13 week support group for men and women to help you face the challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. New Divorce Care groups launch every January and August.

Divorce Care will begin January 10 and will meet in Room 111 from 6:15-7:45 PM. Fee is $20. Contact Stacey Reece for more information.
