W.O.R.S.H.I.P. During COVID-19

Every single person alive has had to make life-changing adjustments during the COVID-19 epidemic. This horrible virus has affected every nation, tribe, and tongue. It has caused many to be sheltered, to miss graduations, miss loved ones, and even lose loved ones. This virus has caused severe fear, panic, and a feeling of helplessness.

Many questions have come up in our daily lives: Where is the hope in this tragedy? What or who do we cling to? Will this ever end? Where do we go from here? How could this happen?

No matter where you are in life, all these questions are valid. Everyone is trying to navigate our way through this confusing time. Thankfully, these questions can be answered with the hope and peace found in scripture. I encourage you to read these passages with your family and friends:

Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 46:1, Philippians 4:6-7, 1 John 4:18, Psalm 94:19, Luke 12:22-26, Psalm 27:1, Revelation 1:17

Through the reading of scripture, along with praying and singing, we can develop spiritual habits that the Holy Spirit can utilize to transform our lives, and have an impact on God’s Kingdom.

Gratefully, followers of Christ know that we can turn to God during this time in history. We have always been a people who worship God during trials, hardships, storms, and epidemics. We do this because we have surrendered our lives to Jesus and know that He is Lord of all (Col.1:15-23). It is in Him that we can begin to answer these difficult questions.

But sometimes, it is still hard to worship God in the middle of a storm. Feelings of doubt and fear come up even for the strongest of believers. Then, other questions arise as well: Where is God now? How do I worship God?

Therefore, we wanted to give you all something biblical, practical, and encouraging to practice with your families. Hopefully, we can help with some of the questions, concerns, and feelings of confusion.

Over the next few weeks, we will be posting blogs about Worship. We believe that Worship is action and a lifestyle. It is not merely a genre of music; it is not solely what we do on Wednesday nights and Sundays mornings. Rather, it is a daily pursuit of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

More specifically, each blog will unpack a new letter through an acrostic poem called W.O.R.S.H.I.P. These letters will represent a biblical action we can all practice in our daily worship.
