Pre-Marital and Marital Counseling

The process Scott Smith uses for pre-marital and marital counseling is called Prepare/Enrich through Life Innovations.

You and your mate would complete an on-line inventory of 165 statements.

The inventory covers everything from Communication to Conflict Resolution, Leisure Activities to a Personal Stress Profile, Marital Expectations/Satisfaction to Children/Parenting, Friends/Family to Roles/Relationships, Finances to Sexual Expectations/Satisfaction, and Personalities to Spiritual Beliefs.

After completing your inventory (which costs $29.95 to process and is paid for on-line), you will sit down with Scott for 6-8 weeks (1 session each week which is typically 1 hour 15 minutes) and cover your responses.

Between each session the two of you will have exercises to complete in preparation for the next session. 

In addition, you will be asked to read Neil T. Anderson's Experiencing Christ Together over the weeks that you meet. It can be purchased in the Commons Bookstore at Lakewood.

For pre-marital couples, 6 months after the wedding, you will come together for a check up to see how things are going.

For pre-marital couples we need some preliminary information  to get the proper inventory downloaded to you:

• E-mail addresses for the two of you
• Date of your wedding
• Are you both born again believers in Jesus Christ?
• Are you presently cohabitating?
• Are you presently sexually active with one another?
• Have either of you been married before?
• If previously married, do either of you have children?
