The middle school ministry at Lakewood ultimately exists to reach students with the Gospel of Christ and to train them to be salt and light in their world. We strive to accomplish this through the use of Lakewood’s “Experience. Equip. Engage.” philosophy of ministry.

Experience. – First and foremost, we desire to help students experience a life-changing encounter with Jesus and a subsequent intimate relationship with Him. Fuel, our Wednesday night program, is focused on bringing students into a knowledge of Jesus Christ through musical worship, games, and teaching from one of our student pastors.

Equip. – Once a student experiences salvation through Jesus, we hope to equip him/her to walk as a disciple in a daily, personal relationship with Him. Sunday morning small group Bible Study, also known as Fuel Cells, is a great way for us to equip students through teaching them to study Scripture and giving them a strong theological foundation on which to stand.

Engage. – The Great Commission calls on believers to GO and make disciples of ALL nations. We firmly believe that this is a command for EVERY believer, regardless of age. We strive to provide students with various missions/service opportunities personally, locally, and globally.
